Timutimu Head
Information on the places of Horomaka or Te Pataka o Rakaihautū - Banks Peninsula
The south-western headland of Akaroa Harbour is named Timutimu. It takes its name from the steep cliffs there.
Timutimu means short stump
or to cut off short
, and is perhaps a description of the bluff rising from the sea.
