- The Festival plans to resume in 2012.
Five Passes Tour
- The 5 Passes, in order of ascent are Evans, Weka, Lewis, Arthur's and Porters. A trip over the main divide and back again. The purpose of the Tour is to give cyclists the opportunity to experience a fully supported four day bike tour along with the traditional Tour de France style yellow jersey, KOM, sprint competitions, and team time trails just like the pro riders, but in a fun and friendly environment.

Italian Film Festival
- This annual festival of Italian films travels New Zealand and is in Christchurch for dates in October.
Kaikoura Seafest
- Kaikoura's premier festival featuring wine and food from the region, Seafest is an annual celebration of the abundance of the ocean and all it represents for the Kaikoura region. Seafest is held on the first Saturday of October each year.

- Held late October to early November. One of New Zealand's longest running garden festivals featuring guided walks, celebrity speakers, workshops and open gardens.

- October. In 2010, the race became Rallye Alsace - Vosges held in Alsace. It was formerly the Tour de Corse held in Corsica.
