Central Plains Water Limited- Company established to develop the irrigation scheme between the Rakaia and Waimakariri Rivers in Canterbury. Shareholders are 400 farmers in Selwyn district who will take water from the scheme.
Central Plains Water Trust- Trust established by the Christchurch City and Selwyn District Councils in 2002 to facilitate sustainable development of Central Canterbury’s water resource. Developing proposals for a large scale scheme providing water for irrigation between the Rakaia and the Waimakariri Rivers.
National Centre for Water Resources- The National Centre for Water Resources (NCWR) provides public information on river, lake, and groundwater conditions across New Zealand including water quantity and quality. It also acts as a distribution point for new technology and management tools for water-related issues.
Water information directory- The Water Information Directory is an on-line searchable discovery of what information is available on freshwater (surface and groundwater) in New Zealand. Some 500 metadata records from New Zealand are available for searching. The site has been designed to allow people to find out what type of information is available, where it is held and how it might be obtained.
