New Zealand Women's Open

The major professional golf event for in New Zealand for women golfers, the NZ Women's Open will be played at the Pegasus Golf Course, just north of Christchurch, from 17 to 20 February. This page details the event, and links to golf resources at your library.

2011

Kristie Smith of Australia won the title. New Zealand's Lydia Ko, 13, finished fourth.

2010

Won by Laura Davies of England. The prize purse was NZ$415 000.

2009

Played at Clearwater Resort, it was the first professional golf tournament for women in New Zealand since 1975, with a purse of NZ$150,000.

About the tournament

Part of the Australian Ladies' Professional Golf tour and the Ladies European Tour, the prize purse is €200,000. Points for the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings are also on offer.
