About Bike Wise

Bike Wise is an initiative of the New Zealand Transport Agency with the support of the Ministry of Health and encourages all New Zealanders to cycle for transport and recreation. It takes place in February, and expands the week-long events run in previous years.

Public events

A series of public events are on the Bike Wise calendar:

• Go By Bike Day is Wednesday 16 February 2011 and is traditionally celebrated in Christchurch with free breakfast giveaways and entertainment.
• The Bike Wise Challenge is a fun inter-business challenge to encourage more people to give biking a go.
