Set to open in July next year Aranui Community Library — Te Kete Wānanga o Aranui won't only look good — it'll be smart, too. All items will be identified in a new way — meaning faster check outs for you and less handling for us.

We have also started planning for a new Halswell Library.

Premium websites — your library card number and PIN give you free access to newspapers, audiobooks and more. To arrange a PIN, phone us or ask at your library.

- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Reference Center — available until February 2011.

Music Online — huge collection with free music downloads.
Overdrive Audiobooks — download fiction and non-fiction for all age ranges in MP3 or WMA format.

Childs play

School holiday programmes — for fun and learning.
Tumblebook Library — free online animated and talking picture books, jigsaws and more.
Help children learn to read using Intrepica — fun online activities build pre-reading skills; covers phonics, reading, spelling, vocabulary, grammar and comprehension.
Summertimes Reading Club for children aged 5 to 12, with prize packs and the chance to win an iPod!
