Holds will still be sent to Linwood Library until Saturday 8 May. They will be available from New Brighton from Sunday 9 May onwards.
The New Brighton Library will reopen tomorrow (5 May), five days ahead of schedule.
It had closed on 19 April for refurbishment, the first make-over for the New Brighton Library since it opened 10 years ago.
Carolyn Robertson, Libraries and Information Unit Manager for Christchurch City Libraries says: “The work schedule was completed well within time and we are glad to open the doors for the public now.”
New at the Library are changes to the shelving and computer layout to improve customers’ access to the library and collections and services and the facility for self pick-up of holds for children and youth.
As part of the refurbishment a Learning Centre space has been created at New Brighton Library.
