Pikihuia Awards for Māori writers

In 2007 the E tuhi! Get writing! Awards for Māori Writers were renamed to the Pikihuia Awards. This is a bi-annual competition. These awards were established by Huia Publishers as the Huia Short Story Awards in 1995 to identify and foster Māori writing talent in both the English and Māori languages.

2009

Te Waka Toi Secondary Student Short Story Award for Best Short Story Written in Māori or English by a Secondary School Student

NZ Film Commission - Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga Award for Best Short Film Script Written in English
