Food Safety - protect your food and yourself
Food poisoning is more common in warm weather. Bacteria thrive in a warm environment, so food should be kept chilled and covered.
The New Zealand Food Safety Authority through its Foodsmart website offers people guidelines on food handling in the home urging people to clean, cook, cover and chill to avoid food-borne illness.
Familydoctor.co.nz has lots of information on food poisoning and tips for treatment.
