Aranui Speedway Display

The Speedway track which was carved out of the sandhills at Aranui in 1949 attracted crowds of up to 14,000 and helped foster three World Speedway Champions. A Heritage week display at New Brighton Library will commemorate this popular sporting venue of the fifties.
