  • provide training for new people to help them learn their job and understand how things work here at the library
  • take the time to identify staff development and training needs during one-on-one coaching sessions. This may mean a chance to move to another team to get more experience and a different view on things.
  • understand that people apply for different jobs with us or with other organisations to advance their careers. We encourage our team leaders to take the time to support staff by offering options and realistic career steps.
  • support staff who are studying towards a professional qualification.
