Host The Travelling Roadshow at your school!
The Travelling Roadshow is an interactive programme of story reading and storytelling for junior classes, years 1 - 3 only. It is presented by library staff at your school. Early bookings for the year are essential. Contact the Centre for the Child.
Membership
It is free to join the Library.
- Two forms of ID are required: name ID e.g. a passport, and address ID
- Children under 16 years must have a parent’s or legal guardian's signature
- Library enrolment form [PDF]
If you intend to bring a group of students in for enrolment, it is a good idea to ring the library beforehand to arrange a time - see our Contact Us page for contact details.

Christchurch City Libraries has created a Matariki learning resource pack for teachers of pupils in Years 1 to 8. Full of practical examples and ideas, this resource can be used to incorporate Matariki into subjects such as art, dance, English, science, social science and social studies.
