Our libraries are all about serving the Christchurch community. We have nineteen libraries plus a mobile library that makes weekly stops around town.

Kia ora and welcome to our newest library Central Library Peterborough. It is open at 87-91 Peterborough Street from Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10am - 5pm. Find out some of the cool things about it.

 

Donate your Earthquake StoryWe all have earthquake stories to tell — donate yours

Donate your story using our online form, and let us know if you have any images or video that you are willing to share. All stories will be cared for and donations assessed as having heritage value will become part of the library’s permanent collections or archives.

Community Information

Christchurch City Libraries maintains a community information database – CINCH which lists more than 6000 community organisations and community-based education courses in the greater Christchurch area, including Waimakariri and Selwyn Districts.
