Architects have an important influence on how we live. From our homes to the look and feel of our cities, public buildings and work places – chances are an architect has influenced things for good or ill. Books and magazines on architectural design have always been popular and the libraries’ collections reflect this.
2008 NZIA Canterbury Branch Awards
Listen to an interview with Richard Dalman, president of the Canterbury branch of the New Zealand Institute of Architects during the 2008 architecture awards. The awards are an annual event, and in 2008 entrants were on display at the central library. In this interview Dalman talks about the entrants and the judging process, as well as environmental building and the typical Canterbury house.
